Hawa Diallo
Hi! My name is Hawa Diallo. I’m a maternal-child and gynecology surgery nurse with nearly six years of hands-on experience and a strong passion for communication, creativity, and community engagement. I began my nursing journey at Vanier College, where I was actively involved as a mentor and tutor, and later completed my BNI at McGill.
Over the past year, I served as VP Sustainability, where I collaborated closely with the VP-EDI to support initiatives that fostered inclusion and engagement. This included co-creating a Black History Month mini library to highlight impactful literature, as well as helping facilitate a panel on Black womanhood in partnership with the Canadian Black Nurses Alliance (McGill). I also worked on strengthening partnerships with community initiatives such as MealCare, helping integrate food recovery efforts into student events, promoting more sustainable practices, and working toward making this a consistent practice.
These experiences strengthened my ability to promote initiatives meaningfully, build collaborations, and connect with diverse audiences. As VP Promotions, I’m excited to enhance the visibility of the Nursing Graduate Student Association, foster engagement across platforms, and create content that truly resonates with students. I believe that strong, inclusive communication is key to building a vibrant and connected community.
